It presents interpretations of literary works and is still in its infancy, but is set to grow.
My name is Gert Hans Wengel, and I was born in Nuremberg in 1958. I grew up in that city, and attended the Neues Gymnasium Nürnberg, a grammar school specialising in humanities, where the classic languages Latin and Greek are taught as the basis of European culture.
I have lived in Cologne since 1978, where I took Slavic studies (majoring in Russian literature), German studies, and History. I obtained a Masters degree in 1987, and started my dissertation on Soviet author Yuri Trifonov, though I was unable to complete this due to personal and professional differences with my two doctoral supervisors.
